I am joining the 30-days of "Thankfulness" Project, (each day you find one thing that you are thankful for).
I am thankful for my family, all of them!
Sometimes I have to just stop and look around to really let it all sink in. I'm counting my blessings today! My family is happy, and everyone is healthy. I am on the road to recovery (shoulder surgery). The winter season is quickly approaching which means that more skiing and snowboarding are coming our way! My son is on the Ski/Snowboard Team at the High School so we will finally get to see Mammoth in the wintertime!!! Woo-hoo!!!
Okay. I guess that's more than one thing....but one thing leads to another!!!
This quote today reminded me immediately of my cousins, who are all around the same age as my own kids. I am so grateful that I have lived just up the way from my Cousin and his Family for all of my adult life. I never realized until the kids started growing older what an important staple this would be in our lives and for our overall well-being. This has given my kids such good solid association as well as helping my boy's to appreciate how sweet girls can be! (I hope this makes them hold girls to a higher standard in life:) It makes my only daughter feel the security of having "sisters" for sleepovers, shopping, silly gossip, teammates and the very best friends she could have ever experienced. My cousin Bryan, has been Robert's closest friend since high school and Melissa has been one of my closest friends since well before she and Bryan married, (almost 20 years ago!). It really warms my heart thinking of how close our family's have been throughout the years, and I am looking forward to many more to come!
Our two families are so close to each other that on the days when all of us gather together for whatever reason, I can't help but just smile....
