I think these are the most pictures I have posted of anything here on my blog and I could have done a million more. If you haven't been to Lake Powell, then I think I would tell you to add it to your bucket list. I'm not normally a fan of any desert, but, this place was AMAZING! The sunsets were incredible and waking up on the lake was pretty awesome too. We settled in a cove area (which there are plenty) and the kids were able to explore about or swim or whatever they wanted. Even the big kids couldn't resist playing in the sand =) My sister came out with her two from the East Coast and I think we were all in awe. We actually took this trip in May, so the weather couldn't have been more perfect. I am sure in the summertime they deal with some pretty high temperatures, (which I doubt I would have been able to handle).
We are definitely going to do this trip again next year! We only stayed 5 days this year, and I want to stay a few days longer next year. The lake borders Utah and Arizona and is enormous. We didn't even see one-eighth of the lake! I think next year it would be best to circle the entire lake first in the houseboat to explore before settling in. There is a waterfall at the far end that I have heard is very beautiful, but only flows after a rain. I think I want to check it out whether it rained or not.
